Big Island, Hawai'i

The lush beauty of the Big Island Hawai'i is breathtaking, and those considering a move to the big island will find themselves immersed in a tropical paradise. The Kona side of Hawaii is located on the island's west end, and is one of the most desirable places to reside in all of the eight islands.

In the heart of North Kona, you will find the Kailua-Kona district, one of the most developed in the area. Along the main streets, you will find chic boutiques and restaurants. Potential home buyers will find a number of attractive low-rise condominiums and single family detached homes in Kailua-Kona, with prices ranging from approximately $300,000 to well over $1 million.

Big Island, Hawai'i

Further north, the charming town of Hawi is a close-knit residential community. With fewer than one thousand residents living in Hawi, this is the kind of place where everyone knows everyone else. A focal point of the community is its main commercial district, with several locally-owned shops and businesses. The town dates back to the early 1800's, and still bears some of its original markings and buildings. Since Hawi was primarily a sugar town until about a generation ago, there is still plenty of open space surrounding the town.

The town of Waimea, or Kamuela, is a town that boasts diverse residents. Many folks here work in the hospitality industry, as there are several world-class hotels, golf courses, and resorts in the area. Others are astronomers from one of the two major telescope facilities here. Health care workers choose Waimea for its proximity to the North Hawaii Community hospital and other regional medical centers. Waimea proves to be a stellar community for them all. There are currently two stop lights in the town, and most locals agree that that's enough. Waimea is packed with spectacular natural beauty, warm friendly residents, and a true aloha spirit.
